Serum to Cure Spider Bite Cape Town scientists have been working hard to produce a serum that will cure the bite of the button spider (Latrodectus Indistinctus), a small but deadly spider very common in the Cape cornfields at harvest time. Several people have died from its bite in recent years, and hitherto there has been no cure. A serum has now been developed which, it is hoped, will prove an effective antidote. There has so far been j no opportunity to prove its eflioaey on 1 human patients, but it has been uniformly successful in experiments with mice. The serum has been made by the same process as that used to make the snake bite serum so successful all over the world.
