Many Crash Badly Over the Long Ranges ■ E- S. KING LEADS FOR BELT (Per Press Association.! TRENTHAM, Last Night. As the day progressed conditions im proved in regard to weather. The cold gave place to bright sunshine} shooting being extremely tricky. Conse quently many who were well up in the aggregate for the King’s crashed badly at the long ranges. A right, front, gusty wind with moving mirago compelled marksmen to correct their sight after each shot with variable' success. M'lvcr, who had a substantial lead earlier in the day dropped to third place. J. Feast went back and Piper crept up to fifth from 16th and Masefield from 15th to seventh. Great interest is taken in the final range. King is shooting steadily and has a number of opponents close up whose chances are favoured, more especially James’. The Gordon Highlander trophy proved an easy win for the New Zealand team. This Service Match is open to competition for all Australian States, including New Zealand. The Colonial Ammunition Shield which was won outright in'l92s and represented for competition, now known as the Petone Shield, was again .won by that club which also takes the Colonial Ammunition Cup, being the fourth time in 11 years, Results: —- h' OTAGO MATCH.
