Downey’s house has been totally destroyed, his wife just getting out in time with two infants. An report states that the Kohu station woolshed owned by Mr Geo. Kirk has boon destroyed. Messrs Cranswiclc and Thomas, settlors on the Waitangahla station, have been forced to leave their places and to bury their household goods. Mr A. A, Woods’ house at Lottin Point was In danger/ all night. At last report tho danger had diminished. At Hora station soldier settlement Arcs were raging but no buildings are destroyed so far. Downeys’ and the Kohu stations aro insured.
