PALMERSTON NORTH BEAT TERRACE END. Eight rinks of Terrace End howlers visited the Palmerston North greens last evening in order to play a friendly match with that club. The honours proved very close, Palmerston North eventualy winning out by 134 points to 102. Two of the rinks also played a match for the Terraco End Stars in which Brown’s rink successfully defended the stars for Palmerston North against the Terrace End rink skipped by Johnston. The following are the detailed results, Palmerston North rinks being placed first in each case:—Howley, Schioler, Gallichan, Arnott (s) beat Allen, Substitute, Rennett, Wallace (s) 23—9: Hansel. Findlay, Rowling, W. E. Jones (s) lost to Hyland, Crouch, McLeod, Duncalf (s) 13—14; Crawford, Chote, Wilton, W. W. Jones (s) lost to -Mercer, Cope, O’Shea, Snell (s) 20 —23; Oliver, Stone, Griss, Matheson (s) lost to Dixon, Knowles, Wort, Nixon (s) 17—22; Beattie, McCominon, Tremaine, G. G. Wilson (s) beat Ashton, Mills, Madden, Webley (s) 25—9; Mitchell, Holbrook, Rudkin, Kerslako (s) beat Lancaster, Gilmore, Baldwin, Davidson (s) 22—12; Eglinton, Dustin, Tozor, Bell (s) beat Hine, Foilas, Fleming, Anderson (s) 14—13. Terrace End Stars. Palmerston North: Croucher, Mowlom, Crump, and Brown (skip) beat Childs, Page, Moffatt and Johnston (skip) 20—9. i ; Terrace End v. Fellding.
