ILLEGAL VODKA
SUPPRESSION IN RUSSIA. LONDON, Feb, 15. Tho Riga corerspondent of the Times says January was a most profitable month for tho police in tholr campaign against illegal distillers of vodka. Fines amounted to £IOO,OOO ,and the money was taken from 50 000 peasants. Twelve thousand stills were seized and 723 litres of vodka were either spilt or confiscated.
