A FATHER’S MEMORIAL

STRANGE TALE OF FRANCE. A remarkable story is vouched for by Captain IT. V Yokes, Assistant Chief Horticultural Officer under the British War Graves Commission. •Speaking at Romscy, (Hants), he said that a father whoso son was killed north of Arras in 19.15, paid eight visits to the district. The Mayor of Arras told the father that if he wished he would give him a piece of land upon which to raise a monument to the memory of his son. The father got an architect to design a memorial. Directly they started digging out the foundations the son’s body was found where the proposed memorial was proposed to be. It was identified by the regulation disc.
