OLD PUPILS’ ASSOCIATION

GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. The general committee of the Old Pupils ’ Association of the Feilding Agricultural High School met last week to make arrangements for its activities during the coming season. The president, Mr J. D. Kilgour, occupied the chair. There were also present Misses A. Eilgbur, M Barltrop, M. FergE&s-?n, M. Cox, E, Shelton, E. Henaghan, and T. A. Mayo (secretary) Messrs. T. Page, F. Price, A. Carthew, -N. Bramwell, R. Chamberlain and the principal, Mr. L. J. Wild. At the annual meeting of the association it was decided that £2/2/- be contributed to the assembly hall fund, provided that five contributions of a like amount were forthcoming at the close of the year, the principal ht the time remarking that the association’s “sprat” might servo to catch a “mackerel.” As no mackerels ,in the way of a similar or large donations had been received the secretary stated that the association would retain its £2/2/-. The annual ball was arranged to take place early in May next, when it was hoped that a full measure of support would be accorded by all old pupils. A resolution was passed stipulating the invitation list to old pupils only, a similar function of a semi-public nature to be held later in the year. The annual reunion of old pupils resident in the country is to be held at Kimbolton during next month probably the 19th. Mr H. Tolley, chairman of the Board of Managers, will speak of his recent trip abroad and there will follow a social and dance and supper. Early in July it is hoped by .the committee to hold the annual reunion of Wellington old pupils at Welington, the principal function to be the reunion dinner on similar lines to that held last year.
