“WORLD’S MOST EFFICIENT COW”
It was recently stated that a Canadian Ayrshire cow was the “world’s most efficient Cow’ by reason of her production of 87,8431 b. from milk in 5 years. This record, a very tine one has time and again been beaten by Friesian cows. An Otago Friesian, Burkcyje Sylvia Posch, produced 200,0001 b. of milk in Hi years continuous milking. Rosevale Burkeyje Sylvia, a daughter of Burkcyje Sylvia Posch, has completed seven first-class Certificates of Record with an average production of G32.561b fat and she is now S 3 days on with her Sth test. Her total production to the end of January 1928, is 122528.1 lb milk and 4623.99 lb butterfat. This cow will be 11 years old nest July. Monavale Queen Bess, a Taranaki Friesian Cow now S years old, has | four first class certificates of record' with a total production of 94170.2 lb . milk and 3493.781 b fat. Grahamholm Colantha Segis Maid, Minnesota, U.S. j A., holds a record for production of 100,455.91b5. milk, and 3.070.131b5. fat in three years. Adirondac Wietske Dairy Maid has records of production for 4 years totalling 129,409 6 in milk, and 4192.55 lb of fat, or an average yearly production of 32349.9 lb. milk, and 1,048.131 b fat. Clara | Findlay 2nd., a British Friesian, pro- I duced 98.2401 b milk in il years (four lactation periods) and 3261.13 lb. fat. Osmaston Jenny, another British Friesian, is the first cow in Britain to complete live consecutive 20,0001bs of milk annually. She is just ten year’s old and her total yield to date is 176,7501 b. of milk.
