MAGISTRATE INFLICTS FINE OF ,'£2s (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. “I am quite convinced he was loitering for. purposes of betting,” said Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., in announcing his decision in a case where Francis Robert Bennett, alias “Butler” Bennett was charged with loitering outside the racecourse on January 28th and 30th last for the purpose of betting. “Half of the questions put to him in Court he refused to answer,” added the Magistrate, ‘'And his evidence was not given in a satisfactory manner by any means. On one charge Bennett is fined £25.”
