PROGRESS OP TOURNAMENT. Tho Folding Tennis Club’s tournament has been progressing during the week, the following matches in the first rounds having been played off— Men’s championship singles. Robinson beat Lawrence 6 —l, 0-—1; Simpson beat Fawcett 3—6. 6—4, 7 —5; Crooke beat Hassell 6—4, 6—3; Darragh beat Mason 3—6, 6 —3, 6 —2; McConachie beat Maguire 6 —3, 6—2. Ladies championship singles; Mrs. Stuckey beat Miss Fish 6—l, 6—l; Miss Barltrop beat Miss D. Eliott 6—2, 6—0.; Miss Foster beat Mrs. Hassell 6—l, 6—o; Miss B. Eliott beat Miss Gornfoot 6—5, 6—5. Ladies’ handicap doubles: i Mrs. Stuckey and Miss D. Eliott (14) beat Mrs. Hostick and Miss Hcaly (24) 50 —17. Men’s handicap doubles: Robinson and Simpson (scr) beat Carthew and Bousfield (14) 60—49; Coppock and Hostick (25) beat Tankersley and McGruer (16) 60—50.
