THE PIPE BAND
(To the Editor). Sir, —It was with pleasure'' that I read “Good Musics” letter, in your Wednesday’s issue and heartily agree with him in that the above band is worthy of all the support that the public, of Palmerston North can give it The band at present has the leadership of one of New Zealand’s best ■ pipers and a playing membership not Inching in quantity, quality, and enthusiasm, and properly equipped and trained, it would be second to none in the Dominion. Now, Sir, as you are aware, a band whether brass or pipe is a band in name only, without a uniform, so surely the public of our city would mate the effort to sea that the “Manawatu Highland Pipe Band” is worthy of its name. From information gained 1 understand thgfc the band members supply their own instruments, mating the cost of equipping about half that required in other centres. Hoping to see some abler pen than mine tato this matter in hand—l am, etc. I ' TAETAN. '■
