MASONIC CEREMONY .
A large number of Brethren assembled in the Freemason's Hall last evening to witness the ceremony of installing the W.M. for the ensuing year. Both the local lodges were well represented and representatives were also present from Feilding and other lodges on the coast. The ceremony of installation was very ably performed by the I.P.M., Bro A. Nannestead, Bro Keelling, P.M., acting as D.C. assisted by Bro Thos King, P.M. The Board of Installed Masters consisted of the following:—Bros Swainson, P.M., 1721, E.C., T. King, P.M., 1721, E.C, R.N. Keeling, 1721, E.C., A. Nannestad, I. P.M., 1721, E. C., W. G. Haybittle, W M Feilding Lodge. EC., and W. H. Smith, R.W.M., 690, S,C The new installed master, Bro L. R. Bryant was saluted with the usual honors in the various degrees, according to ancient custom, and he then invested the folo lowing office bearers for the ensuing term : — I.P.M., Bro A. Nannestad; S.W., Bro H. W. Haybittle; J.W., Bro James King ; Treasurer, Bro R. N, Keeling, P.M ; Secretary, Bro T.S. Hoe; J.D. Bro J. C. Nathan; I.G., Bro G. H. Littler; Tyler, Bro T Schlager. After the ceremony of investiture was concluded the lodge was closed, and the brethren adjourned to a banquet at which the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honored. During tbe installation ceremony the incidental music was efficiently rendered by Bro G. W. Russell, who kindly acted as organist. The ceremony as a whole was very impressively carried out by Bro Nannestad, who is to be congratulated upon the manner in which he performed a duty which is frequently delegated to others. The opinion is general among the members of the craft that while the new master, Bro Bryant, is noted for the zeal and attention he has displayed while holding minor offices he has also succeeded in obtaining officers who are well able to carry out he duties they have undertaken.
