POLICE COURT.
At the Police Court this morning, before Messrs Gr. M. Saelson, aud J. 'Waldegrave, J.sP,, Wiremu te Ra, better known as " Kea " was charged with using threatening language to certain natives, and flourishing a gun at the same time. The informants also asked that he be bound Ofer to keep the peace ; accused pleaded guilty. JHori Repn deposed that he lired at Awapuni ; on. Monday last accused was there, and threatened to shoot everybody ; he had a gun m his hand at the time, but witness could not say whether it was loaded; did" not know whether he was drunk or not. Two other natives gave similar evidence, and on inquiry it was shown that there were several previous coni* victions of accused for assault; drim* kenness, &c, and that a prohibition order was m force m regard to him. The Bench pointed out that defend dant had been several times up before the Court, and if brought up again he would he most severely .dealt with In the presontf case he would -be fm6d 40a and costs, m default 7 days 'm Wanganui Gaol with hard labor, and required him to enter into thefollow^ ing sureties to keep the peace. for six mouths, viz, himself m £25 and two sureties of £25 cash. :
