This afternoon a slight accident happened to a team of horses at the railway station. Some very heavy stringers, cut at Messrs. Richter Nannestad & Co's mill, for the new railway bridge, had been placed upon a timber dray and on a start being effected a portion of the timber- touched one of the horses, and caused it to kick and plunge violently. Fortunately the others remained quiet and the only damage resulting consisted of a quantity of broken harness. The Jane Douglas will arrive in Foxton to-morrow morning, and will return for Wellington on Monday evening. Our report of the Karere school treat yesterday is unavoidably held over. It passed off very successfully.
