TO-MORROW NIGHTS ENTERTAINMENT.
To-morrow night, an ehtertainnient N consisting of a Concert and Amateur. Dramatic Performance will be given m the Forester's" Hall. ...The- first , part, of ♦he entertainment will be a concert, m which some novelties will be for the first ; Mine introduced to the public. ...;... We see by the programme, that the overture* are to be performed by a band and upon inquiry, we learn that Mr: Harbott has succeeded m getting together a really good wrchestra, and which corhpare favorably with the orchestra m any theatre m New Zealand. Tt cdmpri-es some twelve initruments, namely five violins, flVe, piccalo, two cornets, trombon.! tenor drum and the piano. The music to be performed, will consist of several sparkling wallzevMr. Harbott having chosen these as being nrureeasily Worked up, owine to several of . the, perfemers being unable to attend all the practices: on account of their work being same dis-.. tance from town. We notice! that the pianoforte pieces will be rendered by iVCis. Wordsworth, and Miss " Metard,' both new performers to the public, and from what we have heard the public may confidently expect a treat. The soloiets are almost all new performers and 'we. must cong-atulatc the management u'-on this. "We notice that twoduettg are to given by ladies who have not previously appeared before the public, and also thaY a Scandinavian Glee song, which we hear is pretty music will be given. The dramatic portion of the entertainment comprises the second part of the programme. Almost all the performers arenew to the public, and two gentleman are to takethe parts of ladies. The character of Buzfuzz is to be bandied by that favorite of the public, Mr. Pirani, and having been admitted to a rehearsal'we can confidently say that the representation will be a true one, and a triumph, of histrionic powers. Mr. Dung;.n i« tn take the part f the Judge, and from f .cia appeirances aluue, we should say that tue role Would suit him admirably. The names 'of the gentlemen taking the ladies parts we are forbidden to disclose, but we can recommend Mrs. Glnppina as a ' decent married woman and the mother of ten children, who indignantly refutes ttie 'landers cast upon her by 'the •Tadgsr Mr. George is to take the part of Pickwick, Mr. Caverbill that of Sergeant Snubbins, and *f l . Mason , that of Bam Weller. The practices have been well attended and the piece now runs very smoothly. Oar space will not allow us now to speak of the other performers, but we intend to speak of each one individually m cur critique. We trust Sye ; shall see a full house, and that this perfornnce will be followed by others of the same really pnj n>tble character.
