OROUA BIPIVG. The roads a*e m a good state of repair. Gin-alt and Gray have, finish d their contract on cemetery'to Ha!comt-e road. I have again to .bring under your notice the stnte of Pikatoo Bridge, near Sanson. This bridge, at Mokawai, is; bu'lt of matai, j which has gone to decay, and it should be renewed at .once with a substantial totnra one. I would ask fcr a\ithori» y to call tenders for the erection of a uew b-iJge without delay. .'- ; y... ■ . KAWA KAWA TIIDIKG. The road is m very go d tder. Tbe contractors on Baiiks 1 lii;e, Nns. 1 and 2 contracts, are at xvoik. They have a difficulty m getting men to w<srk.on this line on account of the wet state of , the ground. The committee appointed by this Council, being Councillors KocVstrow, Gray, and M'Lennan, met on 20th September, and opened tenders for Nos 3 and 6 Banks' line, and accepted that of Charles Topping as being lowest, and a man likely to carry the work out. * " AWAHOTT -BIDXN&. --•••■■ Reeve has not started tlie works at Foxton, except that part between tr vrawßy and Burr's corner,' and only a small portion of *fhe formation, on thi*.
