A NUISANCE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir.— Through the columns of your valuable paper, I wish to draw the attention oftbe authorities to a nuisance which exist« m Maim- street, by the slops of the new brewery being let into the road drain, and left there to poison- the atmosphere and create disease. I took a " alk with some friends on Sunday even-' ing as far asthe Kawau, and the , stench m passing the brewery was positively sickening. Whose fault i 9 it that matters of these sort are not lookd after? . I am surprised Councillor M'Neil \ has taken no action m the matter ; , perhaps.hii olfactory organ is not m a healthy state or he may have become used to it,, for they *ay use is- second naturev jAll. last summer the effluvia created by jtb'e refuse of the brewery m Rangitikei-street was so disagreeable, that it kept anyone who enjoys a walk after business hqurs" from venturing m that direction, md now we have another, outlet to the town m a worse state. Where is our Inspee-v tor of Nuisances.— l am, &c, ! ~ r CtEABTXINESS.
