A BLOOD-THIRSTY COWARD.
The would-be regicide TTartmann, was very brave and bumptious when be thought his miserable neck was secure from the rope, and openly boasted of his attempt upon the life of the late Czar. New that he is likely to be given up to punishment under the Extradition Act, his craven soul trembles at the ordeal, and like a merciless miscreant as he is, he is ready to sacrifice his confreres m crime to save his own worthless carcase. This we leara from an European telegram, iv the following language : — Hartmann, tbe celebrated Russian Nihilist, who wa« concerned m the attempt on the life of the late Czar by blowing up the railway line at Moscow, and who eventually escaped to the United States, wbere a demand for bis extradition was made by tbe Russian Ambassador, has offered to turn informer again* t hi? former associates and reveal the secrets of the Nihilist conspiracy if a free pardon he granted to him. And this is the man who received an asylum m England, and was looked upon as a patriotic martyr, who had banished himself from home for amor patriac. Out upon such pat riots who hurl their unsuspecting victims into eternity, yot grovel m the dust when their just doom looms m the distance.
