The house and paddocks were a great boon to travellers with stock, and_ the last time it wg -■<. closed I linet a grazfiep with a mob of cattle froni Feilding, returning the*way he came, m consequence of not being able to be accommodated. How many foot passengers are there travellingf rom Bulls or- Sandon to Paliherstony would feel (very grateful for a nightfi -reiti bfe aome refreshments; especially on a rainy winter's day, and they will feel any-* thing b^ thankful to the Bench when they find they hare to travel seven miles further to Palmerston.
