AN OPEN VERDICT.

At the inquest to-day on the recent^ fire at Mrs Alexander's boarding house,' an open verdict was returned. Evidence was given that the building and furniture were over insured. The Coroner spoke! strongly against the conduct of the insurance companies m. over, insuring buildings, as it was a temptation to arson.
