FYE, MISS FIDDLER.

Now this is xough upon the elderly party with the two " dd's," a worthy hotel- keeper, who m Dunedin, over the bar of the " Auld Scotland" has dispensed beer and bitters for the past twenty ye.irs, and is known and respected as " Old Fiddler." O.f course, lam perfectly aware that the one aim m the life of unmarried ladies is to change the name given them by t heir fathers, and had; Miss, Fye-dler sunk the surname for ever m the legitimate way, I would have welcomed her as th« mother of a future generation 5 but the mutilation of tlie " family hnndl ( e " is a piece of : snobbish foolishness, which always recoils upon the perpetrator.
