Th<* baiitnce-sheet having been duly co.rti&ed as being correct by the auditors. wa,s received and passed. . Mi\ She erin, senior, said that if cTery ujember of the congregation — or
rather the heads of families — were to contribute £2 per year, the debt "would soon be wiped off. Mi 1 . Duuqan thought the suggestion a capital one, aiul would immediately proceed to act upon it by taking down the names of. those willing to so contribute. When the sum of £16 was promised from those present. The Chairman then said that the next business before the meeting was the election of a new committee. He would he happy to take the names of gentlemen for nomination. Mr. DtJ-N&AN w/as of opinion that it would not" be wise to make the number too large. His experience was that too many upon a committee was equally as bad as too few, as there was always a difficulty in, -getting a full attendance. He did not know how many members the old committee was composed of, but he thought five, with three to form, a quorum, would be sufficient.. * That I*point1 * point having been agreed to the following gentlemen' were elected :— Messrs. Clifford, M'-Dowell, Eogers, Hanlon, and Dungan. After some minor matters of routine business Ua.d been transacted, it was resolved that all necessaries for Church purposes should be ordered by the committee, and no account, paid without having first received. the consent of the committee, and bearing the signature ot the Chairman passing it for paymen. A strenuous effort vras to be made to collected subscriptions, wjiich^ were to be held inviolate fpr the clearing off of the present liabilities. A votGof thanks to the Rev. Chairman then brought the procedings to a close. '
