; TO THE EDITOB. STE,^In your issue of th a a 2Qth ipst., a; letter appears* headed "A QraTa Charge '*" and signed " John- Hanlon." The gravamen of the charge is that certain land scrip certificates were issued by the E. & C. Aid Corporation m England to their emigrants,and when Mr. Hnnlon presented his scrip to m» I told him that it was useless. Mr. Hanlon omits to state that' in exchange fov the land-scrip certificate of the yaljae of £IQ| wbich he received m England, he gave, a promissor/rnote. for ,£l6,- V payabie on demand, which I hold. .Mr.Hanlon is perfectly at liberty to- exercise the one, but if he does, I shall present the other ; and any: man of commbn-sense.'will, I think, agree; with me that both' documents might as well be put m the fire together, for all the practical good they are to either party. — I am, &c, .
