A MEETING OF CREDITORS— AND THE RESULT.

Mr. Cramond, saddler, of Feilding. would appear to he of the opinion that the Dohtor and Creditors Act was made for his espocial use and henefit, and he has determined that its provisions shall hot he allowed to grow rusty for want of utilising. It is now just twelve months ago since he sank heneath an adverse fortune, and placed his shattered hopes'uhderthe Jsgis of the Bankruptcy Court. At that particular time there were evil-disposed persons who hinted that Mr. Cramond's case was scarcely one for the application of the judicial white-wash brush, hut a serene countenance and seraphic manner carried the day, the Judge ordered the discharge, and the rejuvenated youth rose, phcenixlilce, resplendent from his ashes. But there are some persons doomed to disappointment, and Mr. Cramond would appear to be one of these, for just as the snn was shining m its greatest strength a black cloud arose, and, and — well he is m trouble, once more. Placing his affairs m the hands of his solicitor, he packshis books by rail to the Clerk of tho. Bankruptcy Court— -who, by the iway, he leaves^to pay the freight — the debtor vanishes into space, or betakes himself to "fresh fields and pastures now." According to the notification received, the trusting victims travel to the trysting-place, only to find that the bird has flown, the records ot his shady transactions being considered quite sufficient satisfaction for the favors received. It is a bad rule which will not work both ways, and Mr. Cramond having such a craze for law, is likely to be treated to a phase of it which he may !not possibly relish. There are one or two little articles for which he has ■not accounted, and are wanted by the owners, and we believe Mr. Inspector Goodali, will be asked to act as agent m their restoration.
