The bush over which the proprietors have the right of cutting is 1000 acres, the timber being mixed; white pine and totara predominating. There "are at presen^ about 30 chains only of wooden tramway asthp mill is scarcely m working order. Twelve handsare employed, the proprietors, themsplvos bringing the number up to 15, for whose accommodation nine cottages have been erected. Ton bullocks are employed, and the out-put when m full working order is expected to be 30,000 feetweek. . The plant has cost, up to the present time, £2000.
