THE GEORGIA MINSTRELS
As our readers will porceive, these "farfanraed Minstrels will appear to-night and totmorrow night m Palmerston. Perhaps some of our readers may not be aware that the " Georges, as they are familiarly palled, are the only real troupe of Negro Minstrels which have ever exhibited m public, all of them being escaped slaves. Although the company as it will appear to-night is by no means at its full orginal strength, we notice that the'Veny pick of the troupe still remains— Billy-Wilson, the/inimitable Corner- Man, Chastey ~ Cr-usoe, and Hosea Easton. Nonfrof the three mentioned have extra musical voices, but their eccentricities are sufficient to xipset the gravity of a Trappist. We make it a point never to speak m terms of commendation unless we can do so f»om experience, and we candidly say that the merits of the tßioatjove mentioned, either individually or collectively -are worthy of . the most liberal patronage. In addition, however, to their comicalities, we notice • that Mr. J. W. Marshall, the principal bass of the celebrated Chicago Troupe' is also one of the company, ao that those who value good ballad singing may expect a treat. As we. have seen the conii pany, and are therefore competent to speak of its merits, we have.no hesitation m recommending the bestowal of patronage.
