Sydney, February 19. Sir Henry Parkes stated to-day that joint action would be taken with Victoria for the purpose of arresting the Kellys. The arrangements would be kept secret. The Government would introduce a Bill to facilitate their capture. An elderly man has been run over and killed by a wagonette. In Queensland a laborer named Doolan has been murdered at Cooktown. A woman named Arnold and a man named Mahoney are suspected. Last night the brig Ramond, bound from Newcastle to Timaru, with coals, was wrecked off Cape Hawke. She sprung a leak and run ashore. Three lives lost. In the Assembly, Sir Henry Parkes confirmed the statement of an increased reward, being offered for the capture of the Kellys. He intimated that the Government would probably ask the Assembly and Council to suspend the Standing Orders to pass an Outlawed Bill in one sitting. Arrived— Wakatipu and Australia, from New Zealand. His Excellency the Governor laid the foundation stone of the International Exhibition to-day. The civic, military, and naval authorities were present. There was a great concourse of people present. Scrivener won the Launceston Cup. At the West Bourke election Deakin was elected by a majority of 102. Sailed- Hero. Melbourne, February 19. The Victorian ladies presented a diamond tiara, value 400 guineas to Lady Bowen. The English Eleven, playing without the professionals Ulyett and Emmett, beat fifteen Bohemians in a one innings match. English Eleven, 255 ; Bohemians, 2229. A. P. Lucas and F. Pean were injured. Lord Harris refuses to play again in Sydney.
