PALMERSTON SCHOOL.

The annual distribution of prizes at the Palmerston North, Schopl, took place yesterday, m toe presence, of a, number o.E parents and friends of the pupils. Amongst others present, there were Mesdames. Sudson^ Holt, I^ichter, Colemau, Mitford, and Lrviu, the. cojnmittee being represented by Messrs Sueison, Coieinan, Keeling, Jau'd Goodisson. stating that the two. pupils who had gone up to the Hangitikei Educational Association had both carried off prizes. Considerable surprise and amusement was expressed when onr worthy Town Clerk presented himself and received a* prize from the hands of Mrs . Snelsoni The children were indignant; that an outsider should share m the honors designed for themjelves only; but their indignation was appeased on v its being explained that tbe prize was for'J£eeling^'jun., unavoidably absent.
