CHORAL SOCIETY FEILDING.
The Third Concert of this Society given on Friday evening last. The feather was again, very wet, which will account fpr tHe small attendance. This is much to be regretted, the programme being a good ope and its performance jnost satisfactory. The overture "Fra Diavolo" was excellently piayed by the lady who go. ably and .cheerfully fills the post of accompanyist to the Society. A duett for pianoforte, selection from f Lucia di Lammermror/' by a lady member and a very young lady, whose first appearance as a pianist it was, gave great 'satisfaction and received an enthusiastic encore. The choral musio was, with a single exception, yery sound throughout.' "Awake; jEolian Lyre," is deserving of special mention fpr good harmony, strict time, and amount of light and shade- The soloists acquitted themselves, worthily. The song "The Young May Mpon" -was charmingly sung by a lady, whose clear, welltrained voice and perfect enunciation gained high praise. The singing of vTom Bowling" was also noticeably gowLin* this matter; the sjbager. of,whjHHfijgo, sang " Homeland very pleaaPpy ' " Bird of the Greenwood " Tjras saing by a favorite m the locality with great taste, gaining an encore, to she replied with " One Morning 80 early, "m charming style. This lady joined her sister in !.'" My Pretty Page " m a most animated manner.;, it was rapturously encored, '-and repeated. The ftuett" " I know a bank "brought forward a la,dy. new to r Feilding audiences, possessing! a' voice of grea.t range and" flexibility,' ivhose, performance' of her partgaye" promise of her being an acquisition to the Society. The duett V Sweet Wild! Rose " Awas, pleasingly rendered by a lady and gentleman. A gentleman- sang, ! " The Dream " m, finished style, and gained a hearty recall, to which he replied with "The Basque M^Ujleteer,'/ fully sustaining his reputation. ".'^ TheJ May. Fly,**- a .taio,prettily given and received, as also was a quartette fpr male -voices, a,s a. first, effort gave gopd proxnise. "God Save. the Queen,?^^solp and chorus by choir and audience, brought to a close a very pleasant and, musically, most successful concert.
