NOTIQE THE attention of Butchers and others is drawn to Clause 22 of the Slaughter-houses Act, 1877 : — 22. — " If any person, without being duly licensed, .shall keep a slaughterhouse, or place for slaughtering cattle, intended for sale, or barter, or for shipping, and not be? mg an abattoir lawfully erected, or provided, or a slaughterhouse licensed by the Council of any corpor rate district, or if any per-t son shall slaughter, or cause to be slaughtered, contrary to the provisions of this Act, any cattle, m any house or place, not being an abattoir, and not being a slaughterhouse duly licensed under this Act, such person shall forfeit and pay a sum not exceeding ten pounds for each and every head of cattle so ••slaughtered.
