KAWA KAWA.
In this riding Mr Grower is not to be allowed a walk over, and has for his antagonist, Mr R. McKenzio, tho son of one of the oldest settlers. While the n&w man comes with a most liberal program me, ho also goes on the independent ticket. Mr Gower, is possessed of some ability, and while his action m the Council was m the main fair and impartial, on several occasions he exhibited a most lamentable indecision, evidencing the fact that lie had been " got at " and talked over. Cliques and parties m public bodies are- apt to engender feelings and be proroeative of actions which exercise a detrimental influence, and as Mr Gower has hitherto been one of the joints of the- tail, it is more than passible, he will find himself a victim of the " unscrewing " process, nnd that henceforth the walls of the County Chamber will not re-echo his verbose flatulent oratory. I will therefore risk writing as his successor, ». McKENZIE.
