I har* been refused by three gentlemen to sign it,, on-the grounds that ojio of them never sign* a requisition for anyone-, bnt still he said he would be id favor of Mr Lmton-. Another objection was that Mr Linton was » Borough resident, not a country man ; and! the other would not vote far either. I donot knaw of one exception that the question was not put to me of who was coming; forward, and I have toW them.
