COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTION .
The following are the names of the candidates nominated for the various Ridings of the County Council : — MANCHESTER HIDING. W. H. Lash, A. F. Halcombe, and D. H. Macarthur. There are two members to be returned, consequently there will be an election. AWAHW RIDING. Francis Loudon, nominated by John F. Rockstrow and F. K. Crowther. Ernest S. Thynne, nominated by Augustus S. Easton and Alexander Gray. Henry Dawson, nominated by Ernest | S. Thynne and John Macpherson. John F. Rockstrow, nominated by George Membery and Francis Loudon. Two Councillors are to be elected for this Riding, and a very hot contest is expected, TAONtfl BIDING. Messrs. James Linton, and Vigo Monrad have been nominated, but only one member is required. KAWA KAWA BIDING. Robert B. McKcnzie, and John W. Gower, duly nominated. One Councillor to be elected. For the Kiwitea, Oroua, and Horowhenua Ridings there was no opposition, Messrs. Carr, Sanson, and Kebbell being returned for the ridings respectively.
