THE LATE COLLISION.
•_ " TO TH» EDITOR. ?ib.— Having witnessed the accident on Jii-tirtcr mqrning when Hie morning train horn- Vv"a;ij»Boui ran into the town cab drawn bj two horse*, containing driver and fK^eriger, I can say. that it was the most miraculous escape: that; I. have; ever seen. *£he pole of the cab was stmck by the engine and broken, ajid. : the harness of the wear horse carried way by remainder cif train: I am of opinion that a thorough investigaiion Bhould be held before a Justice of the Ponce.. It is, and has be>n from the commencement of the opening of the/ railway, a common occurrence to liear of horsei and bullobki being Uled on the railway line, and all that is heard of it afterwards w that «o-and-so'B horae or buliock had been killed. I cannot understand why a public enquiry is rot held a> to'where the fault is. Had human life been sacrificed, an inquest would naturnlly but through Providence their lives, have been! saved. : Therefore it is only just fo-all- parties that a full enquiry fhould be made, and severely punish th*e parties who are ta blaaw for the accidenti.-^-I am, &c.,
