Wanoaniti, September 25. Mr Freeman &. Jackson reports :—The usual sales during the past fortnight have, been well attended by settlers and buyers. The yards to-day were filled with the best lot of store cattle offered this season. The bullocks being of a superior description. The prices, on the whole, wtro not so good as those of previous soles—best store bullocks being from five to ten shillings a head cheaper; two pens old cattle were at full value, and keenly competed for. Beefwns of medium quality, but sold well. This description of stock is hardly obtainable. For cattle of prime quality sales are at extreme rates. Some of the sheep entered for the day's sale were good quality mutton; the best 'pens making capital- prices. A number of pens wore only good stores; these were passed m at the auction, but were all sold afterwards at store prices: ■ -y G-ood horses - meet a ready sale, at fair figures, but weeds and screws are neglected. Cattle-^At St. Hill St reet Yards 253 head were penned. Fat cows, £8 to £9 15s; !• three-year-old store bullocks, £7; four-year-, old dp., £7 15s; two-year-old do., £5 7s 6d; [cows, £5 10s; eighteen-months'-old, £4 2s 6d to £4 15s ; milch cows, £7 10s to £9. I placed 60 head three-year-old bullocks privately at £7 10s. Sheep—4so made up the sale—best wethers, 17a to 18s; store wethers, 18s 6d. Horses. —Draught animals up to £39; unbroken, £21 ss; good hacks, £10 to £16 ; weeds, £5 to £7Exports;—lßo head cattle and 1150 sheep.
