If any person without being duly licensed shall keep a Slaughterhouse and not being duly licensed .under this Act, such person shall forfeit and pay a sum not exceeding Ten, pounds for each and every head of cattle so slaughtered. 24. No license, not being tho renewal of a previously existing license, shall be issued to any person to keep a Slaughterhouse, unless public notice shall have been given by the applicant for the same once m each week for one month immediately preceding the time when such application is to be heard, &c. And such parties are further informed that on compliance with these provisions of said Act they may, on application to this Council at one of its general meetings, have licenses granted them for Slaughtering on payment of a fee of £2, including both Classes, to the end of present year.
