A CORRECTION.
TO THB EMTOB. Sib, — "Will you kindly allow me to correct a misapprehension that may possibly arise ' from a perusal of the report of a meeting Tield m Foxton last Saturday evening that appeared m your issue of Wednesday, The meeting was a, complete holo-and-corner -affair. No invitation was sent, or intimation given, to the representatives of tho Press, that such a meeting was to be held, and your reporter ~ had difficulty m getting together sufficient data upon which to found his report-. The mombcrs of the late Board are accused of discourtesy towards the ratepayers by their non-attendance, whereas tho sjmple fact is, that only one or two ■were aware that a meeting of ratepayers was to her tield! ' As an instanco of 'the -irregular nature of the proceedings, it has leaked out that the chairman of tho meeting, refreshing himself with the fumea of tobacco, left his seat, and wandering about the room, endeavoured to imbue several ratepayers .with his own ideas upon certain matters. Again, the report is inaccurato witli refcronce to the questions attributed to Dr. Eockstrow. — I am, &c., Ypvit Bbjpobtbb. Foxton, Augnafc 22. ' " .
