A CORRECTION.
Sib,— rl would be glad if you will correct the statem^nt^ m _yourjpaper "respecting the'quaritHy of potatoes, &c.," forwarded from Awapuni. The same were growii.lyr Mr B. T B>owlauda and iriyiself,' above iTO-'tbris, and" were purchased by Mr "Waldegrave. We sent away several consignments prior, but finding that we could not get them away as fast as we could desire, we applied to: the Railway Manager, who courteously had a special train with sixteen trucks placed at our disposal. These were well filled at Jackeytpwn, a place that is well known for its producing capabilities and industrious settlers. The Jackeytown settlors have j this year grown upwards of 300 tons of produce, but are at a sad disadvantage, j although not more than three-quarters of a mile from the Railway line, m not , having a shunt for their benefit. They have applied by petition to head 'quarters, but have not as yet received any satisfactory answer to itheir prayer. I begpf you. to ventilate our grievance m your valuable paper. — I am, &c, ; : W. Akbbs. Eiverdale Farm, 14th August, 1878.
