The Jano Douglas left Wellington on Saturday afternoon. Owing to the heavy gale on Sunday morning she was compelled to seek shelter under Kapiti, which anchorage was safely reached. She remained at Kapiti till about 4 a.m. on Monday, crossed the Manawatu Bar at 7, reaching Foiton at 8. She brought a full cargo for Manawatu and Hangitikei.
