Tha Jane Douglas left Wellington at 5.30 p.m. on the 15th, auchored for 4 lioin % 3 under Kapili, crossed the Maoawatu Bar before half flood, and arrived at Foxton at 9 a.m. on the 16th. Experienced fine weather throughout. The Tui left Wellington at 6 p.m. on the lOth, crossed the Manawatu Bar at 8 a.m. next 'morning, 4 hours before high water, but m passing up the river tailed on to a bank, ■which detained her a few minutes, arriving at Foxton wharf half an hour after the Jane Douglas.
