Board's advertisement calling a meeting of the householders of Otaki to . elect a School Committee on the 24th inst., the" settlers assembled at the Courthouse,^ at 7 p.m., but owing to the wildness of the night only, a few householders mustered, and those few dhjee'ted to the meeting .being held m such an Antiquated building, which threatened to collapse under the violent gale then blowing; but, fortunately, no key Of the Courthouse bein# forthcoming, an adjournment was made to Mr Langley's accommodation house. . Mr. Hadfield was votedto the chair, and after reading the L advertisement ; calling the meeting, a letter from the Secretary of the Board, and several extracts from ' , the Education Act bearing v on 'the matters to be considered, called on the householders to nominate for the Committpe.
