Sib, — Allow me through your valuable paper to correct that part of a- reporti appearing m the " Wanganui Herald* of the 19th inst.', under 1 above. heading, ■ and referring to certain statements supposed to have been made by me at the ; meeting. I did not state that Richter, Nannestad, & Co. would ship from Wanganui m the event of a reduction being made, but I gave it as my opinion that a much larger "export from the district would be the result of a reduction in!the carriagei Our shipping pbrt is— and m all probability will Jbe-^-Foxtpn, > unless we are driven away by excessive freights and charges; Neither did I state tiiat five other mills *' were in' course of erection- m the district," but I think a gentleman present did say something to that effect.— l am; &c, Fbitz Jenssen. , Palmerston N., June 20th, 1878.
