The sale of a block 0f. 200,000 acres of land beyond the conviscated boundary, and between the Waitotara and Whenuahara Rivers, was negotiated by Williams for William Cowan, of Carlyle yesterday. The Ngarawra tribe are the sellers. The present purchaser has given the Government the refusal of the land. The Natives desire that the transaction may be known all over the, colony. Large reserves will be set aside, and the land will be eventually cut up for small farms, but first must go through the Lands Court.
