A GRIEVANCE.
TO THB BDITOB.
• Sib,— Will you kindly oblige by inserting m one of ywr columns the dangerous state of the Borough wads. Near the. oentre of Main street there has been, for a considerable time, a large stack of timber, also a , quantity of iron, rods, building material, &c., not on the paths, but positively scattered indiscriminately on the public highI way.. At this spot there is a road made ( across the Eailway, but it is almost impossible to cross with a horse and cart, there being generally a railway tru^k, loaded with timber, which is sufficient to frighten any horse. Another annoyance (I refer to the one m Broad street) ; there the. road is actually broken m no less than three different places with stOa. Bump, bump, bump, violently shaking, displacing and breaking the good* m yopr- oait. On Sunday, the 12th inst., a trolly was left on the roils across the centre of the road. Certainly, the. Borough Connculors are a very condescending and obliging body of gentlemen to allow the roads to be out up m the manner they are. We hear the main road is again to be broken for rails to be laid to stores which are now being ejected. Complaints are being continually made, but to no purpose. It is to be hoped these dangers will be speedily rectified, by the .proper authorities. — I am, Ac., GW.B.
