Fbidxy, May 16^ 1878. The usual monthly meeting of the fibbye Iwdy took plftoe at the Board Rooms, on Friday week. Mr Henry McNeil, presided, and there were present Wardens Hammond, Dalrymple, Farmer, and McPherson.. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed, after which the Secretary read the following v . From the Manawatu County Council, fn reference to appointing a Eoad Overleer.—Eesolved that the Manawatu County Council be asked to make a proposal to the Board as to salary and time said o^cer demote to the Manawatu Highway Board. IMPOSITION OP BATE. It was proposed by Mr Dalrymple, and soconded by ; Mr Farmer, that the rate for the ensuing year be one shilling m the £, from the Ist of April, 1878, to March 81st, 1879, the same to be payable on the Ist April, 1878. \- }. \ " ?A.YMBNT O¥ ACCOUNTB. Accounts amounting to £7O6 r Ss 4d were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned till the 21»t June, 1878.
