As, however, I do hot "wish: to* pine away under the stigma of being "branded as a contemptible maligner and slanderer," I enclose far publication with this letter a clipping from the " New Zealand Mail" of about three years ago. By comparing this with " The Printer's Devil," as published m your issue of the 17th ultimo, the public will be able to judge for themselves as to the Originality of the latter. I emphatically deny either having taken you to task or having been forced by you to "cry peccavi" m the matter of orthography, Luckily there 'was a "third person present on the occasion to which 1 presume you allude.. . . v I acknowledge my error m calling. ybur* production " poetry," but I oould riot call 1 them, as you do, " rhymes," if "look", and " lunge," and.
