An adjourned, meeting ot tho Manawatu County Council was held on Thursday, the 11th April; : . PBESENT. Crs. MeArthur, Halcombe, Gower, McNeil, Sanson, Snelson, and Thynne (Chairman). MINUTES. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. . ■• : ' After a short discussion on a motion brought forward by Cr. Sanson, the Council resolved itself into Committee to consider the adjustment of ' accounts . of the different Eidings. After sitting " for some time, the Council again sat as a whole, and the Committee obtained leave to report afanext meeting. Cr. Sanbon proposed and Cr. Goweb seconded, " That; the' Chairman and Cr. London be a sub-committee to have the necessary work done to Ferry-house and Punt at Foxton."— Carried. Cr. McNeil proposed and Cr. Halcombe .seconded, " That the Collector of Kates for the County take legal proceedings .for the recovery or all rates due by defaulters after 30th April inst." Carried. " * Cr. McNeil proposed and Cr. Snelson seconded, "That Police or others authorised to collect the Dog Tax shall be allowed the sum of one shilling each from date for their services, and be requested to summons all defaulters forth-with."—>-(/arried. Cr. Snelson proposed and Cr. McNeil seconded, "That this Council meet again for business on May 13th next, at noon." — Carried.
