Tuesday. The revenue ■of the colony for the last quarter has been £1,203,03/*", being a decrease Of £20,361, mainly owing to tbe reduction of the land sales.
[Per Press Agency.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday, In the Supreme Court to-day, Jacobsen, alias Count Mouravieff, was indicted on two separate charges of obtaining money under false pretences. The prisoner was defended by Mr Barton, and found guilty; but sentence was deferred. Frederick Gattling, for, an indecent assault upon a yOung girl, at the Lower Hutt, was found guilty, and re uanded for sentence. The Grand Jury threw out the bill against "Walter Ockendon, for robbery. A test of the water at the Waterworks was made tO-day, and it was found that at half -past nine there were 12ft. 9iai. m the new reservoir; at half- past two, there were only 12ft. The Engineer of the Waterworks finds that on testing the volume of the stream that supplies the reservoir; that the engines, hydraulic lifts, and other machinery at present m use m Wellington would absorb the entire amountj leaving none for domestic purposes.
