I, and all, accepted the colonial meaning or application of the word ''loafer" as very different from "an idle man." " (2.) I have never been placed m the profitable position of " providing food " (of a digestible nature) for' an army or other body •> on the. contrary, whilst wearing Her Gracious Majesty's uniform (to follow Mr O ? Callag}ian| " 'twas myself that was food for the inimy's powther." Will you kindly insert this as a " parting shot." — I am, <&c, J* E. Gilbert.
