'^Friday.; A conference of the. .Mayors and Chairnian of the County Council vvas, held to-day for the purpose of !6onsidpring the "question of the management of the Hospital and the charitable aid. Resolutions were carried to the following effect.— ''That the Conference did nob see its way to accept the proposal of the Government with respect to taking over the Christchurch. Hospital by the City Council ; that for the management of hospitals and charitable aid the Government be recommended to form Districts with Board^ oh which the Government, municipality and County Councils should be represented ; and that, as the ChristchurGn Hospital has ho endowment, Grovernnaeut be requested to obtain an endln\v»n"nt for it/
